Pete Ellis is based in the Scottish Highlands each Spring, before his Summer work in the Alps. This year, Pete covered the West Highland Way to update our routecards for the Summer. The April weather is always hard to predict, and these photos show a typical mix of damp days with low cloud, and high-pressure days with sharp air and snow on the Munro summits.

On Conic Hill, an early climb on the WHW, with Loch Lomond stretched out.

At the shore of Loch Lomond, the Highlands proper in the distance.

An old tree, across Loch lomond from Tarbert.

The oft-seen, even more oft-smelt goats beside Loch Lomond!

In Strathfillan, new tracks laid for electricity work.

The Pap of Glencoe down the length of Loch Leven.

Further up the Lairig Mor, on the last stage into Fort William.

The Mamore hills to the Left as we look back down the Lairig Mor.. April snows!

Thanks Pete!
