Lucy Rushton joined the Alpine Exploratory team in May 2012, and in August had the opportunity to trek the northern section of the Tour du Mont Blanc. Lucy's mother Jackie accompanied her on Alpine Exploratory's most popular holiday, and they enjoyed 7 days trekking from Courmayeur to Chamonix.

Looking down onto Refuge Bertone, above Courmayeur.

Climbing up from the Italian val Ferret with the dramatic flat valley floor.

Note the cow teetering on the edge of the ridge
Approaching the Grand Col Ferret and the Swiss/Italian border, note the cow teetering on the edge of the ridge.

Heading to La Fouly from La Peule Dairy Farm.

Lucy, Jackie, Ray and Wayman with the Swiss Val Ferret stretching out behind us.

The immaculate Swiss landscape.

A stunning view from Champex, looking back down the Swiss Val Ferret.

An after-dinner treat!
Sunset view across Champex-Lac

The vast Rhone Valley above the Bovine hut, between Champex and Trient.

Finally Mont Blanc is revealed! Now on French soil, we descend along the Aiguillette des Posettes to Argentire.

Climbing out of Argentire and we reach the ladders.

Lac Blanc with clouds developing over Mont Blanc in the distance.

Chamonix from Refuge de la Flegere, our penultimate night of the trip.

The final descent!

Trek complete, in Chamonix reflecting on a fantastic trip!
