First, a bit about us

Alpine Exploratory is a specialist provider of self-guided walking holidays in the European mountains. We also offer a range of guided walking, trekking and snowshoeing holidays.

We aim to give service at a level above the norm; central to this is a courteous, efficient, enthusiastic and personal approach to enquirers and clients. If we receive an email with three questions about a trip then we send a personal reply that answers those three questions fully - and we enjoy doing so!

We're lucky to have received some exceptionally positive feedback from clients. This is very satisfying and is some confirmation that our ethos is right.

Leaders

March 2010
Alpine Exploratory is looking for an International Mountain Leader (IML) to join its small team of IMLs. In particular we seek an IML for work in Chamonix and the Valais in July 2010.

The IML that fits well with our clients will be engaging, thoughtful and polite. He or she should be able to become part of the group, whether it's a scheduled or a private trip.

Please contact Simon Stevens at simon@alpineexploratory.com. Any future vacancies will be posted on this webpage and also on the BAIML forum. Thank you.

Administrative staff

March 2010
Alpine Exploratory is looking for an efficient and polite person for administrative, marketing and other work.

The bulk of the work involves discussing trips with enquirers, making reservations at our accommodation, answering clients' queries, and preparing clients' information packs. As well as this core work there are marketing tasks such as creating ad copy and updating internet adverts. The role can be as responsible and varied as the candidate likes. Join a small, growing company with exciting work, friendly clients and a focus on good service.

The most important attribute is a generous, conscientious and polite approach to enquirers and clients. Excellent literacy is needed for emails. Attention to detail is of course crucial when making accommodation bookings. An efficient, intelligent and positive attitude is key. Languages are not needed, but some knowledge of French, Italian or German would be useful. The successful candidate could be a skilled administrator or planner or possibly a younger graduate.

The work will be based in Settle in the Yorkshire Dales, but some home working could be possible.

Please contact Simon Stevens at simon@alpineexploratory.com. Any future vacancies will be posted on this webpage. Thank you.
