Paul Forestell and Judy Brown from Canada joined us to trek the Walker's Haute Route from Chamonix to Zermatt. The timing was perfect for the weather! In fact, summer 2009 has been a magnificent one. Paul and Judy's photos show a Haute Route enjoyed to the full.

At Lac Blanc above Chamonix, starting with a fine panorama of the Mont Blanc range.

The steps up to Aiguillette des Posettes, Mont Blanc behind.

Meadows above the Chamonix valley.

Looking up to the church in Trient.

Paul on a boulder in front of Glacier du Trient.

Pastoral scenes en route to Le Chable.

The view from Cabane du Mont Fort.

The huge waymark above the Grand Desert.

In the valley near Lac des Dix.

Glacier de Cheilon, the trek's single glacier crossing.

Climbing the ladders to Pas de Chevres.

Hiking in Val d'Herens with Mont Collon as a stunning backdrop.

Shade on the gentle valley stage to La Sage.

Bright flowers, wood carvings and a Swiss flag.

On the climb to Col de Torrent here is a view back to Val d'Herens, about to be left behind.

The Bishorn from above the Turtmanntal.

Cows in the road! Climbing to the Augstbordpass.

Judy at the Augstbordpass, gateway to the next valley: the Mattertal.

A corner in the ridge gives a sudden view of the Mattertal far below.

Approaching Zermatt; the unmistakeable Matterhorn looms above. Success!
