First, a bit about us
Alpine Exploratory is a specialist provider of walking holidays in the Alps and the UK, both guided and self-guided.
We are a small and friendly team that aims to give service at a level above the norm. Central to this is a careful knowledge of our trekking routes flowing from our research trips, and a personal and enthusiastic approach to enquirers and clients.
We have no specific leader vacancies at the moment... but... we always like to hear from IMLs and this regularly results in coffee! Please email Simon Stevens at firstname.lastname@example.org with your CV. We hope to meet if possible, or at the next BAIML AGM.
It's our policy to employ only IMLs as leaders; if you don't yet hold the IML but are working through the scheme or are considering it, please do still contact us because who knows for the future?
In the office
We have a vacancy in the Edinburgh office! (Summer 2017) As well as this, we welcome speculative applications at any time, and we'll email back and keep your details for the future. Thank you.
Join the Alpine Exploratory team
(Summer job vacancy posted 7 April 2017)
Alpine Exploratory is looking for an enthusiastic person to work full- or part-time in our central Edinburgh office, starting in April or May 2017 until roughly the end of September.
Our central work is answering enquiries and making the bookings and other arrangements for our friendly clients. There is potential for the right person to grow with our small company and to make their work a very exciting mix of tasks, including marketing and business development as well as visiting our treks in the Alps and the UK.
Our office hours are 9am to 6pm Monday to Friday. Our business is seasonal; the months from April to September are our busiest. On holiday leave the aim is to be flexible and generous, knowing that we all like to travel!
We have few preconceptions of the ideal candidate; walking experience or a travel industry background are not essential. However, essential elements are a welcoming and generous approach to clients, and a general enjoyment of the outdoors and travel. While not essential, education to degree level (or being a current student) and a knowledge of French, German or Italian would be an advantage.
If you'd like to apply, please email with your CV to Simon Stevens at email@example.com.
Thank you for your interest in Alpine Exploratory.
Please contact Simon Stevens at firstname.lastname@example.org for more information. Thank you.
