The TMB in Italy June 2009

Simon recce'd a stretch of the Tour du Mont Blanc in Italy just before the season.

A quiet early morning in Courmayeur's square.



Height is gained quickly above Courmayeur. Dolonne is seen clearly as a separate village on the right-hand side of the valley.



At last! Almost at Rifugio Bertone after the stiff climb.



Building works at Rif Bertone with Mont Chetif the pointy peak beyond.



A relatively recent change to the TMB is this new balcony path to Armina; here we look back towards Col de la Seigne.
