Keswick is a bustling town on the shores of Derwent Water. It makes a very convenient base for a walking holiday; as well as the excellent walking straight from the town, several bus routes lead out into the surrounding valleys. You'll be surprised how much of Lakeland is reachable. Each day, choose a walk from your selction of routecards. They describe in detail a range of higher and lower walks.

One day you might walk the complete circuit of Derwent Water, Crummock Water or Buttermere, while another day you might venture down a quiet valley or onto the fellside. Because you're based in one place and have so much going on around you, this holiday is one of our most flexible. The options are there to walk for as long as you like or to be a tourist for the day.
