Please ask about our 2012 season which starts on 1 April. Thank you.
Take this journey across and through the Lake District's famous mountains. Based loosely on the popular Coast to Coast path's Lake District stages, but with clever diversions, this 6-day route sets off from Penrith and treks across to St Bees on the coast.
Each day's walk brings a change in scenery. The first and last days are naturally gentler as they wind through the foothills and countryside. The middle four days pass through the high mountains, taking in sights such as Ullswater, Watendlath, Rosthwaite and Buttermere before walking out through Ennerdale, perhaps the grandest of all Lakeland valleys. A huge number of attractive detours can be made along the way.
With no local transport required along the trek, and with all your stays booked for you, this holiday provides a real break where your only focus is on enjoying the walk. Let the route take you to some out-of-the-way spots in the Lakes that you wouldn't ordinarily visit: hidden tarns and high valleys. For moving through the mountains in a satisfying way, this trip is one of our very best.
Your accommodation is in our varied schedule of guesthouses, inns and B&Bs. As always, we seek out friendly and welcoming places in handy locations.
