Contacting us from your trip?

When our trips are running we are on call from 8am to 8pm in the UK (9am to 9pm in the Alps). Please email or call us in the normal ways. Often email is best, to or to your contact person. Please see the Key Notes in your folder for further details. Thank you.

Our base in Edinburgh

We are a little team working in our office in Edinburgh in the UK. We moved to Edinburgh in early 2015, from Settle in the Yorkshire Dales where latterly we had a small shop on the market place.

How to reach us
We are an 8-minute walk from Edinburgh's main station, Waverley. Walk past the Scottish National Gallery and find our door, to the Regus building, opposite the tram stop. This tram stop is called Princes Street and is direct from Edinburgh Airport. If on the airport bus 100 (a better option) then hop off lower down Princes Street and walk along. Lastly, Edinburgh Waverley station has direct trains from London King's Cross, Glasgow and Manchester.

Local walking
The West Highland Way start town, Milngavie, is a direct train ride from Edinburgh Waverley station. While Glasgow and its airport are generally easier for the West coast of Scotland including both the WHW and the Great Glen Way too, please do use Edinburgh before your trip. If you fancy calling in to say hello, please let us know and we'll give you tea or coffee!

Outdoor equipment
Edinburgh is a decent place to buy outdoor gear, albeit not a patch on Munich! (We love Globetrotter and Schuster there.) In the block behind the Alpine Exploratory office is a branch of Cotswold Outdoors, a chain of gear shops in the UK. We have a discount with Cotswold; the code comes in your info pack. Also on Rose Street are Tiso and Nevisport, and around the corner on Frederick Street is The North Face.

Please contact us any time. Thank you!
