For Visa, Mastercard, American Express and JCB we ask to add a 2% card fee. What happens next

We confirm your booking
We'll confirm receipt of your booking form and send you initial notes on equipment, insurance and other matters to help your early preparatons. We encourage you to wait until we have confirmed your self-guided schedule or until we have confirmed that your guided trip is guaranteed to run, before you pay for travel or insurance. However, we realise that sometimes it's necessary to book these earlier.

For self-guided trips we reserve your schedule according to your chosen dates and, once we've done this, we email it to you to check. If you're happy then we'll ask for your deposit.

For guided trips we'll ask for your deposit and we'll email you as soon as we can to confirm once the trip has reached its minimum number of clients and is therefore guaranteed to run. We'll also give you a date by which we will cancel the trip or try to make alternative plans, should we not have reached this minimum number. This date is at least 4 weeks before your trip and is typically at the end of May for summer trips.

Your balance and your info pack
Your balance is due 8 weeks before your holiday and we'll send you a reminder by email. Once your balance is paid, as soon as possible and at least 3 weeks before your holiday, we post your pack with all the information about your holiday, including maps and routecards for self-guided holidays. Now all that's left is to enjoy your trip!

Protection of your money

Your payments to us are protected, ensuring that in the very unlikely event that we become insolvent before your holiday is completed you can have a full refund. The Package Travel, Package Holidays and Package Tours Regulations (1992) cover holidays in the UK's travel industry and stipulate ways in which companies can give financial protection. Alpine Exploratory pays clients' money into a trust account, where it stays until the holiday is over, at which point we may ask the trustees to transfer the money to us.
